Your family’s tree and photographs, kept by your family.

Hearthkeep is a private archive for one family: the tree, the photographs and the stories behind them. It runs on your own computer, or we run it for you, and it is yours to take with you.

A safe place your family controls

Hearthkeep stores your family’s memories where you decide — your own computer, or ours — and you can take it home any time. Your family sees it. Nobody else does.

Find anyone, anywhere, any year

Search by a face, a name, a place, a year or a word. Hearthkeep finds the people in your photographs and the moments you’d forgotten you had.

Search on a phone: photographs and what the family recorded, found for “lake house”.

An archive passed down through the ages

Your family’s archive can be passed down for generations. Do you know your great-grandparents’ names? Most of us don’t. Write down the moments that mattered and make them findable for the ones who come after.

The family tree: four generations, each person shown by face and name.

Your health history, kept for the people you choose

When did the hairline start going? What ran in the family? Record it once, encrypted, and decide who may read it — your children, your descendants, or only you.

A person’s medical section, locked, with the choice of who may read it.

The Archivist

An AI helper that works inside your archive: ask it who is in a photograph, when something happened, or where a story is — and it helps you add what’s missing.

The Archivist answering a question, with the sources it read under the answer.

Every photo on the map

Where was this taken? Hearthkeep puts your photographs on a map, from the camera’s own record or a place you name, so a trip is a trail and a house is a pin.

The map: photographs where they were taken, some in piles with a count.

Old prints, scanned — front and back

Point your phone at a print. Hearthkeep reads the date on the back and asks who’s in it.

A scanned print on a phone: the face it found, and photographs already in the archive that look like it.

Lake Week, every year

An event gathers everyone’s photographs into one album while it happens.

Events: Lake Week happening now, and the weeks before it, each with its album.

What we promise

  • Your archive is yours. One family, one archive, never mixed with anyone else’s.

  • It sends us nothing. Your archive runs on your computer and reports nothing to us. The license is checked there after a one-time activation. You can switch a usage report on; it is off until you do.

  • Stop paying, keep your archive. On your own computer it stays open to read, nothing deleted, until it’s paid again. On Hearthkeep Cloud you have thirty days to take it home, and taking it home is free.

  • On Hearthkeep Cloud, we can see what you store. Finding faces and searching need it. We never sell it, never give it to anyone, never show ads, and never train AI on it.

  • Hearthkeep Backup is sealed before it leaves your house. It is encrypted on your computer. We cannot read it; your printed recovery kit is the only key.

  • No ads. Not on this site, and never in your archive.
